At the core of the TBJ community lies the ideal of developing and deepening relationships.

For the second year of new Family Programming, we will offer innovative opportunities for parents and children to share in meaningful, age-appropriate, family experiences. These intimate,family-centered activities will help bridge your child and family’s experience in the ECC to the Religious School and the broader synagogue life.

For Kindergarten through 2nd grade, families can participate in newly created children’s Shabbat services followed by Shabbat dinners seven times throughout the year. Six of them will be at TBJ, and one will be home-hosted. The intention is that this group of families will connect on a more personal level with one another as well as with the TBJ clergy and educators.

For families with 3rd through 6th graders, there are new opportunities to come together in two different ways. Three times this year, new and creative Shabbat experiences will be geared towards this age group. An example of this was a challah baking Shabbat that was attended by so many families last year. In addition, there will be three Tikkun Olam (Social Action) programs where parents and children can make a difference by directly impacting and contributing to a community cause. Two of them will be held on Shabbat mornings here at TBJ and one will take us outside the walls of TBJ and into the community to make a difference.
