The Confirmation year is an unforgettable experience as your child develops relationships with their clergy, bonds with their classmates and explores what they believe about their place in the world.

The class is centered around 3 themes:

Flourishing and VIA Character Strengths - At TBJ our strengths-based philosophy builds an enduring culture of flourishing, well-being and confidence. With this in mind, our teens will take the VIA Character Strengths Survey and learn about their top charcater strengths. They will be able to use what they learn for their own personal development and in how they interact in the world.

What do I believe? - During the teenage years students often struggle with what they believe about religion and higher power. During these classes we give them an opportunity to explore their own personal beliefs using overarching questions such as: Why do bad things happen to good people? What happens after death?

Ask Big Questions - Ask Big Questions is a program on college campuses around the country, that gives students an opportunity to have a reflective conversation. Our class conversations are built around a Big Question that is relevant to each teen. Examples of some of the questions are: How do we disagree? For whom am I responsible?

Confirmation is open to 10th-12th grade and typically meets twice a month on Sundays at from 10:30 am-12:00 pm and concludes with a Shabbat evening service to honor our Confirmands.

Cost of program is: $350
