Early Childhood Center

"I truly cannot speak highly enough about the ECC. I am a mother of six, and cannot imagine sending my children anywhere else. The TBJ ECC is that rare, elusive combination: an environment which challenges young children academically, while making them feel cared for, safe and loved."

--  Jordana Horn Gordon, ECC parent

"To put it simply at other preschools and camps children played but at TBJ children thrived! They were stimulated cognitively with carefully thought out educational programs and were nurtured emotionally with a staff full of love, care and attention."

-- Tammy Gold, ECC Parent

At the Rabbi Barry H. Greene Early Childhood Center we focus on each child….stimulating his or her natural sense of wonder to discover the joy of learning in a warm and supportive atmosphere. With an excellent child to teacher ratio, our welcoming and inclusive environment serves children ages 3 months through 6 years. Our innovative and dynamic programming includes: TBJ's Together with Babies Program (4-13 months); Toddlertime  and Shabbat Shalom Club (14-24 months); The Transition to Two’s;

Playschool 2’s; Preschool 3’s; The 3+4's; Pre-K 4’s; and our fully accredited full-day Kindergarten.  We offer daily early morning drop off and after school enrichment activities.

As we embark on this journey, in partnership with our families, we remind ourselves of our sacred mission of fostering a love of learning in every child we teach. We hope to achieve this goal by skillfully weaving meaningful, creative and enriching experiences into each and every day, empowering our students to follow their own curiosity; to think, question, and imagine creatively; to work both independently and cooperatively with others; and to become self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners.

At all grade levels our curriculum is child centered, multisensory, thematically based and integrates all domains, including social-emotional development, oral language, literacy, emergent writing, science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, (STEAM), social studies and physical development.  In addition, through the celebration of Shabbat, the Jewish holidays, Tikkun Olam, and our connection to Israel, our children will experience the beauty and joy of their Jewish culture, tradition and heritage.

Our teachers are committed to an intentional and individualized approach by calibrating the complexity and challenge of activities to match each child’s level of skill and knowledge, increasing achievable challenges as children gain competence, confidence and understanding. With this in mind, we strategically provide children with the most appropriate opportunities to engage with one another independently, to try new and challenging activities, and to initiate play and robust learning experiences based on their interests.
